DISPLAY Taiwan 2010 reflects upbeat Industry

With one of the most rapidly changing and growing industries, the mandate of DISPLAY Taiwan is crystal clear…To spotlight changes, products & the future!

Taipei, Taiwan June 14, 2010: Display got their big days June 9 to 11 when the world of ICT, panels and innovators dazzled across Asia’s bright trade platform TWTC Hall 1. Without doubt touch screens won the spotlight in a field that has stirred excitement from every branch from R&D labs to the basic consumer.

The fact that it was co-organized by TAITRA, PIDA, TCA and SEMI has positioned it to be one of the world’s top FPD shows that brings with it a vast line-up of selection and talent by joining 206 exhibitors who used 550 booths.

This 3-day FPD exposition attracted nearly 40,000 buyers and visitors from home and abroad to grow 10% on the previous year in both scale and visitor count.

Explosive growth in touch panels and E-paper was matched at the show with a special “Touch Panel” zone that joined companies from the entire spectrum of the touch panel chain. It’s here where AUO premiered their 2.4-inch Transparent Multi-Touch AMOLED display while the “E-Paper” zone showcased the latest breakthrough from leading Taiwan-based companies such as AUO, Delta Electronics and Prime View International that lead four mainstream E-Paper technologies.

Display Taiwan proved once again a key venue for strategic manufacturers of materials, equipment, and service provides from both home and abroad. These included AU Optronics (AUO), Chi Lin Tech Co., Chunghwa Picture Tube (CPT), Corning, Elan Microelectronics, Prime View International and 3M.

This all-star lineup attracted buyers to seek new business prospects and strategic partners. By turn-out, the top 5 visitors/buyers nations were Japan, Korea, USA, PRC and India.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines, the one-on-one procurement meetings were unfolding on June 9th. They linked key manufacturers with buyers in 40 of these meetings. Here they questioned, probed and purchased panels and optical component products projected to be worth $3.16 million USD in on-site deals and an estimated US$5.58 million in follow-up business. Participants came from nations as diverse as Spain, Canada, Germany and Great Britain.

This year’s Business & Technology Forum enjoyed some of the key gatekeepers in the field. These included such VVIP speakers as Mr. Nobuo Terazaki from Mitsubishi Electric, Mr. Holger Heil from Merck Display Technologies, Mr. Benjamin Paletsky from E-INK, Mr. Jim Cathey from Qualcomm MEMS Technologies and Mr. Yoshimoto Masuda from Bridgestone Corporation.

The pros joined with the audience to explore four of the hottest themes: Technology and Market Trends for AMOLED, The Newest Market Trend of China LCD TV Industry, The Popular Issue and Application of FPD and The Market Trend and Technology Development of Touch Panel.

While Display Taiwan continues to grow steadily year after year, a bigger venue is needed in order to accommodate all exhibitors. As a result, the next event, Display Taiwan 2011, will be even bigger and better at the TWTC NANGANG Exhibition Hall.

Get ready to plug into Asia’s biggest display at DISPLAY Taiwan 2011 next June 14 to 16.
